💚 Together, We’ve Recovered 135,854 lbs of Plastic Waste. Here’s How.

Five years ago, we made a bold commitment: to take responsibility for our plastic footprint across our cafes, coffees, and customer experiences. Today, we celebrate another meaningful milestone on that journey—with 135,854 pounds of plastic waste recovered, including 26,407 lbs in 2024 alone.

This sustainability journey is made possible by you—our customers, interns, teammates, and vendors—alongside our collaboration with global impact partner and fellow B Corp, rePurpose Global.

🌊 The 2024 Impact—By the Numbers

This past year, your purchases helped fund:

  • 26,407 lbs of plastic waste recovery
  • Equivalent to 3.4 million bottles, 10.2 million shopping bags, and 146 million straws
  • Waste collected primarily from West Java, Indonesia, through Project Laut Yang Tenang
  • Support for 77+ waste workers with fair wages and dignified labor

Currently we’re investing in ethical recovery through Project Laut Yang Tenang, defending Indonesia’s rich marine ecosystems and uplifting workers from the informal waste economy. Previously, our support helped empower 138 workers in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley via Project Ajabu ya Bluu.

Together, we’ve:

  • Funded plastic recovery every single year since 2019
  • Offset 135,854 lbs total
  • Collaborated across two continents
  • Built a legacy of stewardship through our products, practices, and partnerships
